What’s new
Every Mastery Lite release and what it changed. Updates arrive in the app automatically. This is the running record.
- Fix: renaming a workspace keeps one folder.
rename workspace to <name> used to create a second folder and split the workspace's files between the two. The existing folder is now renamed in place, and everything in it follows.
- The mic says when it is listening. Turning dictation on shows a short notice with how to stop it (click the mic again, or say "mic off"). A stray click near the text box used to arm the mic with only a red dot to show for it.
- Text files open as readable pages.
go to <file>.md or .txt showed a blank page; it now renders as wrapped text.
- A mistyped command is answered, not sent to an agent. "maximize files" used to become an agent task. Short window-shaped phrases that match nothing now point to
open commands; rename workspace to <name> works, and renaming a window is untouched.
- Your windows stop sliding off-screen. The canvas could quietly shift sideways - not the camera you pan with, the surface underneath it - and nothing ever put it back. After that, Tidy, Grid, Focus and every other layout arranged your windows into a part of the canvas you were no longer looking at, so tidying up could look like it had thrown your work away; the glass blur could also sit over empty space where a window appeared to be. It happened after something as ordinary as clicking into a window, it could happen with Mastery Lite in the background while you were streaming, and it survived until you dragged the canvas back by hand. Every container the canvas sits in is pinned now, and a guard checks a few times a second that nothing has shifted them.
- The help inside the app has been rewritten. Mastery Lite is described as an Agentic OS rather than an agent development environment: it runs your agents as long-lived processes with one command bar over them, a live spend meter, an audit log, and the browser, boards and previews on the same canvas. All 115 help pages have been repunctuated at the same time.
- Streaming Mode's first-time layout no longer runs into upgrade prompts. The first time you went live, Mastery Lite tried to build its stream layout out of a Sprint Board and a cloud agent - neither of which Lite includes - so you got upgrade prompts and a layout with gaps in it, live, on camera. It now builds that layout from what Lite actually has: an agent on a local model, a Preview window and a Terminal. If you have already been live once, your saved stream layout is kept as-is; Settings > Streaming > Reset streaming layout loads the corrected one.
- OBS control works. Connecting to OBS Studio, scene switching, and the privacy-scene guard that jumps your stream away when a window holding secrets opens - none of it could connect in an installed build, only when running from source. That is fixed, so the OBS section in Settings > Streaming does what it says.
